  • Great Blog post. I am going to bookmark and read more often. I love the Blog template ? if you need any assistance customizing it let me know!
  • interesting post, you should engage in typo domains also. Anyway, keep up the good work, love your blog
  • Thanks Johny, that's a great point! Typo domains are also great for cash parking, and I hope to get into that later in the series. I am happy to hear that you're enjoying the blog.
  • The good news is that there is nothing really wrong with purchasing a domain name that ends in .net, .org, .us, or even the newer .biz. Your site’s ability to rank highly on search engines is the result of a number of factors, so don’t worry about settling in one category.
  • this option may not be available to you. The good news is that there is nothing really wrong with purchasing a domain name that ends in .net, .org, .us, or even the newer .biz.
  • For SEO purposes longer hypenated domains can be useful. However, who can remember domains like that? Who is gonna remember houston-criminal-law-attorney.com? I just think it's to much.
  • The points under "What should your domain name do? " are very important in selecting a domain name. ".com" is the best one according to me, as well as according to the author.
  • yep, i agree that .com domain have a better serps as long as we optimize it well
  • Choosing a domain name plays an important role while promoting your website, because if you chose domain name with your keyword then you will benefit in SERP in Google. Speaking about Domain age, it is old is gold.
  • Noni thanks for visiting! You are absolutely right, the benefits of a well constructed keyword can really men the difference between SEO success and failure.
  • It is actually the perfect time. In order to facilitate both initial Search Engine Rankings and long term internet marketing objectives, both the Domain name and website content should ideally revolve around the appropriate keywords for your industry whenever possible.
  • .com has higher chance of getting its targeted traffic because a lot of people are most familiarized with it unlike edu, org, gov..
  • That is a great point, thank you for adding!
  • We really had to choose carefully on what domain we should pick as it will be what we are using for a long time, what you had said was all so informational..
  • Keywords certainly are the most important part of your domain. these are the decision makers as to whtehet the site would have visitors or not.

  • According to me, firstly choosing a domain name is the major task. For seo, a domain name plays a major role. The points under "What should your domain name do? " are very important in selecting a domain name. ".com" is the best one according to me, as well as according to the author.
  • Thank you for your comment and welcome to the discussion.
  • Hello,
Its not wrong buying domain name such like these, but these are less valuable than ".com"
Suppose i get a domain name as "xyz.net" and another "xyz.com",
the domain name "xyz.com" will be more popular, as Google lays more emphasis on ".com"
  • very well said things about marketing , branding and using the domain name too, but remembering the domain name can be a pain , it is really not possible some times.
  • Thanks great post
  • the core tact should be not to hide anything from the clients ,, this could tarnish the image of the organisation, doing so may also call for bad word of mouth.
  • well i guess it is a bit difficult to remember domain names
i see that a lot of people are talking about it .

but i hope its not that bad.
  • Although it may seem premature to pick SEO keywords and key phrases at such an early stage, (even before the content is written), it is actually the perfect time. In order to facilitate both initial Search Engine Rankings and long term internet marketing objectives, both the Domain name and website content should ideally revolve around the appropriate keywords for your industry whenever possible.
  • The Internet is such a powerful tool, and blogs like these are really useful for people like me who wouldn't know the difference between a domain name and an email address. :D At least now I know where to start if I ever decide to take on the net windmill. Thanks!
  • This is really great news for webhosting outfits everywhere. More people who know the basics, more people who will get into the wonders of the Internet. It's not as scary or "techie" as you think, people!
  • I couldn't agree with you more, and welcome to the discussion!
  • SEOs and keywords are the baits that attracts the fish to you domain. It's fine that you have to pay to get a domain name, but there are "re-sellers" of domain names that want to make a quick buck. That really bites.
  • That is a very useful post, Infact I believe that you are right in saying that the domain name should not be too long, That is the mistake people generally make.
